She has previously recorded two highly-profile cover songs Half the World Away by Oasis. Oasis in a commercial for Christmas from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry, who endorsed the song Runaway from her side, gave the song a boost of recognition. Celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was when she discovered a keyboard in her loft, and becoming intrigued by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes urged her to pursue music for personal growth, rather than as a way of earning money or for as a hobby. So she started with her own music. She cites renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as an affinity for Bjork's style. She decided to start performing her music in public when her mother said they might help others not be famous with her music, but rather to help people see around them realize the importance of their work and how they could impact the world. The piano was her first instrument when she was six, and she started making music at the age of nine. It was unknown by her family until she turned fourteen. There was no way she could have imagined to turn into Aurora. The singer says that she simply likes to compose music. Music to her is the most effective method of feeling anything.
